Student Experience

The global economy is changing rapidly, and what it takes to successfully navigate life and career is changing too.  Over the next five years, Syracuse University will invest in enhancements to the student experience to ensure that Jessica Beyer, ‘19, and her classmates are better prepared for their professional and personal pursuits.

Beyer, a psychology major and Spanish major in the College of Arts and Sciences and advertising major in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, selected Syracuse because of the opportunities she would have to study abroad, engage in research and strengthen her leadership skills.

She appreciates the level of course planning and career advice she receives.

“I have two advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences and they both are wonderful,” Beyer said. “A liberal arts education not only exposes a person to a plethora of different subjects, but it also prepares one for any future jobs.”

Being a Coronat Scholar also enables Beyer to conduct fully funded summer research at the University, and to study abroad for a semester in London.
