As part of the $100 million Invest Syracuse initiative to enhance the student experience, Syracuse University, in collaboration with Student Association (SA) and the Graduate Student Organization (GSO), announced plans for a new pilot shuttle to service Euclid Avenue. Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud addressed the University Senate for the first time in the 2017-18 academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Steve W. Barnes ’82, chairman of Syracuse University’s Board of Trustees, and his wife, Deborah, today pledged support for Opportunity Syracuse, an ambitious fundraising effort aimed at raising $40 million in new student scholarships. The Barnes Family promised an annual fund challenge gift of $500,000 to match new and increased gifts made this fall to grow the University’s commitment to opportunity for promising students.
